About Gabbar Hill
Gabbar Hill is the original seat of Goddess Arasuri Ambaji, where the goddess was first worshipped before the main temple was built at the base. Rising approximately 600 metres above sea level, this Aravalli peak offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding hills, forests, and the Ambaji town below.
The hill is named after the dense forest of Gabbar trees that once covered its slopes. Today, it is one of the most visited attractions in Banaskantha, drawing pilgrims who wish to pay homage at the original shrine and nature lovers seeking the spectacular views from the summit.
The Gabbar Hill Temple
At the summit sits a temple dedicated to Goddess Ambaji, which is considered the original abode of the deity. Many pilgrims believe that a visit to Ambaji is incomplete without climbing Gabbar Hill to seek blessings at this original shrine. The temple is simple yet spiritually powerful, with saffron flags fluttering in the mountain breeze and the panoramic backdrop of the Aravalli range.
Gabbar Hill Ropeway
The highlight of a visit to Gabbar Hill is the ropeway (cable car) that carries visitors from the base to the summit. The modern ropeway system offers a thrilling 5-7 minute ride with spectacular aerial views of the Aravalli hills, the Ambaji temple complex, and the surrounding countryside.

How to Reach
Gabbar Hill is located about 2 km from the main Ambaji Temple. Auto-rickshaws and taxis are available from the temple area. The ropeway boarding station has dedicated parking for private vehicles.
